ABOUT WISE SAN FRANCISCO/BAY AREA CHAPTER
In the true form of networking, a member of the New York WISE chapter reached out to a few contacts in San Francisco about creating a Bay Area Chapter. Ultimately, a group of 6 women gathered at Delancey Street Restaurant to discuss ideas, goals and opportunities in the Bay Area. Ironically, this group ended up having connections through their previous careers working with the World Cup, Sony, Nike, Visa and more. The team agreed an organization to connect women in the sports and events industry was lacking in this market and started to recruit board members to spearhead the launch.

The team developed a calendar of events highlighting a blend of networking, panel discussions and outdoor events to engage with this audience. The first Chapter gathering was a holiday party at the Clift Hotel as a membership drive and attracted more than 75 women. Since then, the San Francisco/Bay Area Chapter has grown through the years.

ABOUT WISE NATIONAL

From its beginning in 1993, when a group of approximately 60 women met in a New York City restaurant, WISE has become the leading professional organization for women in the sports and sports events industry.

As the leading voice and resource for women in the business, WISE now has chapters throughout the country; its membership spans a diverse spectrum in experience and area of expertise. In short, from entry level to C level, from the major professional sports leagues to consumer packaged goods and media, WISE provides an opportunity for women to meet, discuss career related issues and network.
